2019 Induchem Club Championships

The Induchem Senior Club Championships for 2019 will be played from Sunday 22nd September to Friday 26th September. All the Finals will be played on the Friday evening coinciding with a BBQ and social evening. The tournament will open for entry on 27th August and this year we have decided to make a number of changes to the format which are explained below.

The Club Championships is one of the major tournaments in the club calendar and we hope that you will make a special effort to participate and additionally enjoy the social aspect of the tournament culminating in the BBQ and prizegiving on the Friday evening. All club members are asked and encouraged to support the event and in particular the BBQ on Friday 27th. 


Tournament format 

The following events will be played 

  • Men’s and Ladies Singles Grade 1-3 combined: The men’s and ladies singles events will be open to members of grades 1- 3 only. Members over the age of 16 on 1st January 2019 will be allowed play in this event. The winners of the men’s and ladies events will be designated as Club Senior Singles Champions for 2019 and will be awarded a perpetual cup. Winners and runners up will receive a monetary prize 

  • Men’s and Ladies Singles Grade 4-6 combined: The men’s and ladies event will be open to members of grades 4-6 only. The winners will be awarded a perpetual cup. Winners and runners up will receive a monetary prize 

  • Men’s and Ladies Singles Plate Grade 1-3 combined: The men’s and ladies plate competition will be open only to the 1st round losers in the Grade 1-3 event. Winner and runners up will receive a monetary prize 

  • Men’s and ladies Doubles Grade 1-3 combined: Men’s and ladies doubles will be open only to members of grades 1-3. Entrants may choose their partners but the combined additive grade of the pairing must be 4 or over. (e.g: a grade 1 must play with a grade 3, or a grade 2 can play with a 2 or 3). Entrants may also specify if they require a partner for the event in which case every effort will be made by the organisers to provide a partner. The winners of the men’s and ladies events will be designated as Club Senior Doubles Champions for 2019 and will be awarded a perpetual cup. Winners and runners up will receive a monetary prize

  • Men’s and ladies Doubles Grade 4-6 combined: Men’s and ladies doubles will be open only to members of grades 4-. Entrants may choose their partners but the combined additive grade of the pairing must be 10 or over. (e.g: a grade 4 must play with a grade 6, or a grade 5 can play with a 5 or 6). Entrants may also specify if they require a partner for the event in which case every effort will be made by the organisers to provide a partner. The winners will be awarded a perpetual cup. Winners and runners up will receive a monetary prize

  • Mixed Doubles Grade 1-3 combined: Mixed doubles will be open only to members of grades 1-3. Entrants may choose their partners but the combined grade of the pairing must be 4 or over. Entrants may also specify if they require a partner for the event in which case every effort will be made by the organisers to provide a partner. The winners of the men’s and ladies’ events will be designated as Club Senior Mixed Doubles Champions for 2019 and will be awarded a perpetual cup Winners and runners up will receive a monetary prize

  • Mixed Doubles Grade 4-6 combined: Men’s and ladies doubles will be open only to members of grades 4-6. Entrants may choose their partners but the combined grade of the pairing must be 10 or over. Entrants may also specify if they require a partner for the event in which case every effort will be made by the organisers to provide a partner. The winners will be awarded a perpetual cup .Winners and runners up will receive a monetary prize

Entry:

  • Participants may enter a maximum of two events.
  • The entry fee for the tournament will be €15/€25 for one/two events respectively.
  • The entry fee (one or 2 events) will include a complimentary ticket for the BBQ on Friday. The BBQ ticket may be transferred in the event that the participant cannot attend.
  • Unavailability will be limited to the following dates: Monday 23rd, Tuesday 24th, Wednesday 25th and only one period of unavailability will be permitted.
  • Winter League team selection will consider the Club Championship results
