The role of the tennis committee is to organise the tennis events that happen throughout the year, for example, the Munster Senior Open and other smaller internal events such as the Internal Winter League are all run by the Tennis Committee. The tennis committee is not an elected body, it is made up of volunteers often recruited by the Tennis Captain when their term begins (at the AGM in end of Feb). The tennis captain chairs the tennis committee and reports back to the General Committee once a month.

Junior Committee
The Junior Committee help manage and organise events aimed at junior members. They are a very important part of the club and events such as the Family Fun Day, Santa Party and Junior Close simply could not happen without them.The Committee meets 4 or 5 times a year in advance of the junior events. The Junior Committee is not an elected committee and so is possible for members to get involved at any time of year. Social Committee
The social committee has the task of deciding and organising club social events. Events such as the Munster Senior Open Barbeque or new members night are the responsibility of the Social Committee. In addition to this, they often organise a number of ad hoc smaller social events throughout the year. The Social Committee is not an elected committee and so is possible for members to get involved at any time of year. If you would like to get involved with the committee please contact the office.
Coaching Review Committee
The Coaching Review Committee is a group of volunteers who help specifically with the organisation and management of Coaches and Coaching activities. The Committee meets once a month and the chair of the Coaching Review Committee sits on and reports to the Club’s General Committee every month.
General Committee
The general committee meets monthly and oversees the general running of the club. It is an elected committee, members are elected to the committee at the AGM in February. Once elected, the general committee selects the Club Chairman and the Club Treasurer. The tennis, squash and snooker captains, along with chairs from some of the other committees all sit and report to the general committee. Management Committee
The Club Management Committee is made up of three people, the Club Manager, the Chairman and the Treasurer. The Committee meets approximately once a month and is responsible for the day to day management of the club, all three members also sit on the General Committee.
Junior Box Ladder
Date: January – March (matches on Friday afternoons) Ages: 10 – 18 Description: A competitive singles event where players are put in groups/boxes of approximately 5 players. All players in the same box play each other. Once all matches are played, groups are reshuffled with those that win the box being moved up to next box. Pet Essentials, BMC and KBS Cups
Date: end October – April (matches usually set at weekends) Ages: U12, U14, U16 Description: Doubles. Club teams of four players are created per age category. In the first round, the team is in a group of approx. four Munster clubs. The team plays each of the other clubs both at home and away. The better teams go through to a knockout stage. Each pairing will play one match when playing another club. Entry Fee: Club pays fee How to sign up: Coaches select team from squad players.
Easter Egg Tournament
Date: Easter Week Ages: 8 – 12 Description: A doubles or fun games competition for young players played in one afternoon (players should be able to rally) Entry Fee: €3 How to sign up: Contact Coaching Co-ordinator
Saturday Coaching
Date: September – June Ages: 5 – 13 Description: Fun coaching for beginners and intermediate players. Entry Fee: €65 per term How to sign up: Contact the club office
Squads
Date: September – June Ages: 8 – 18 Description: Coaching of different levels, available on weekdays Entry Fee: Varies depending on number of days attended and group. How to sign up: Contact Coaching Co-ordinator
Davy Munster Junior Open
Date: Beginning of July Ages: 8-18 Format: Singles & Doubles Description: A 7-day competition with multiple events, it is open to members and non-members. Activities are held in the evenings (example: tag rugby, quiz etc.). Entry Fee: €15 for one event and €27.50 for two events and €40 for three events How to sign up: The event is usually open for entry from the beginning of June, entry is online via tournament software website. Notices will be put around the club and on facebook once entry is open.
