Date: September- June Ages: 8 – 12 Description: ROGY, stands for Red, Orange, Green Yellow and relates to the colour of the ball. Kids progress from a red ball (lightest ball) through the various stages. ROGY events are usually held on Saturday for approximately 2 hours and are open to both members and non-members. Date: Beginning of October Ages: all ages Description: A day of fun multi-sport activities. Entry Fee: approx €25 per family How to sign up: The date will usually be advertised a few weeks before on Facebook, and notice board – just come along.
The annual Christmas tournament was oversubscribed this year, we had 36 people taking part in the fun mixed doubles event, which was followed by some mulled wine and mince pies. Well done to Debbie Dunlea and Deirdre Swinburne who were tied first for the ladies with 19 points each and to Derry MacCarthy who won the event overall with an excellent 21 points.
Like other years a number of Christmas parties were held in the club for members to book into. Like other years, they were a busy few nights for the club and as usual Brook Inn presented some really delicious food. Well done to all who helped with the organising and decorating, as you will see from the pictures on facebook the club was looking very festive indeed!
On the afternoon of December 18th, the club welcomed a very special visitor. Over 65 of our younger members came to the club to welcome Santa and his elves had setup a beautiful grotto for him in the Snooker Room. The Sunday’s Well Squash Open took place on the 9th December 2017. Well done to all who took part, some photos of the prizegiving are given on facebook at this link
The annual ladies Christmas lunch took place on December 8th, approximately 50 members attended to celebrate the festive season. A delicious lunch was provided by Brook Inn and a presentation was made to Greg Morris as a thank you for all his work during the year.
At the end of October, the club held the Junior Close, approximately 60 kids took part over the few days and while the weather was mixed we saw some excellent tennis. Well done to all who took part!
The American Tournament which ran monthly from April – October was again a big success, we had 82 people take part over the 6 months and every month bar one was fully booked. The finals of the American Tournament took place on October 27th, Joe O’Mahony and Alex Daly were the overall winners. The tournament was backed with sponsorship from Cantor Fitzgerald and Human+Kind and the good news is that Human+Kind have already agreed to sponsor it again next year.
