The Junior Close took place between 23-25th September for the for the first time since “Pre Covid” times in 2019.

We had a week of great weather, great tennis and great fun. The tournament saw members as young as 6 picking up their rackets. A first taste of “match play” for many.

On behalf of the club, we would like to thank Ger, Marie, Elaine, Susan, Laia and the Junior Tennis Committee who worked tirelessly behind the scenes managing and scheduling the matches, referees and office volunteers. The Junior Committee also recruited bakers for the wonderful homemade baked goodies table for finals day and, in particular, prepared the logistics of the social events, such as the “movie night” where they hosted over 60 kids last Friday evening. Finally, a massive well done to all the players who played to such a high standard.
