The Winter League Phase 1 is well underway, so far our Grade 1 Ladies, Grade 2 Ladies, Grade 2 Men, Grade 4 Men, and Grade 5 Ladies have qualified for the knockouts. These knockout matches are being scheduled right now, you can track all the matches and schedules here on Tournament Software.
4. American Tournament – Rounds 2 & 3
The second of our American Tournaments was due to take place in December but was called off due to the weather. This second round will now be held on Friday, January 17th. The players who signed up for the December event will be playing in this round.
This is open to all grades. Three separate competitions will be held within the tournament to cater to all grades. We would encourage more of the higher grades to get involved. The €5 entry fee includes pizza, a complimentary beer, mineral, or glass of wine, and prizes. Many thanks to our sponsor Freefoam.
The matches will be played on a Saturday evening at 5 pm. The round-robin dates are
- Feb 22nd,
- March 1st,
- March 8th,
- March 22nd,
- April 5th
- the finals on April 11th and 12th.
The closing date for entry will be Friday 9th February.
This is a fun doubles team event open to all levels and is a great way to meet other members. The entry fee is €15 payable on commencement of your first match. You can also sign up as a sub if you do not want to commit to the full event.
6. Tennis Christmas Cracker
Our annual Tennis Christmas cracker was held on Saturday, December 28th. Thank you to the 48 players who took part. Thank you to Carole, Adrienne, and Debbie for volunteering their time organising the event.
