The finals of the O’Connor’s Pharmacy Munster Junior Open Championships were concluded in superb conditions at the weekend. For the previous 7 days over 200 boys and girls in age groups from as young as under 8 right through to under 18 competed in this Category 1 Irish Junior Tennis tournament and many of the country’s top juniors from all four provinces battled in blistering sunshine for the main titles. Activities during the week included a Bingo night and of course the traditional afternoon tea, which this year included a Junior Bake Off event.

Of course, these event’s don’t happen by themselves and we need to thank Marie & Claire as Tournament Directors, Ger, Tournament Referee, Ciara Fry and Debbie Dunlea and both their committees and very many voluneteers for all the time they gave to the club throughout the last few weeks.  There are a number of photos on our facebook page at this link and the results are available here.
