1. Winter League Phase 1 – Update

The Winter League Phase 1 is well underway, so far our Grade 1 Ladies, Grade 2 Ladies, Grade 2 Men, Grade 4 Men, and Grade 5 Ladies have qualified for the knockouts. Our Grade 1 Men still have a chance too.  You can track all the matches and schedules here on Tournament Software.

2. Winter League Phase 2 – Now Open

Munster Tennis has just released the details of Phase II of the Winter League, this phase will be different from the last few years.
Grade 2-6
Each fixture in this competition will consist of the following matches: 1 x men’s doubles and 1 x ladies’ doubles followed by 2 x mixed doubles.
Grade 1 
Each fixture in this competition will consist of the following matches:-

1 x men’s doubles and 1 x ladies doubles followed by 1 x mixed doubles, men’s singles and ladies singles.

Matches will start on January 19th, the first phase is a round-robin, followed by a knock-out phase, with the finals on the 11th of May.

If you are interested in being considered for a spot on a Team, or as a sub, please sign up below. The Club selection committee will decide on Teams. You need to complete the sign-up form by Tuesday, December 10th at 6 PM, to be considered for selection.

3. American Tournament – Round 2

The second of our American Tournaments takes place this Friday, December 6th, it is fully subscribed.

The third and last of our American Tournaments is set for Friday, the 17th of January. Only 32 players can be accommodated on an individual night so sign up quickly to ensure a spot. An email will be sent to those playing a week beforehand.

This is open to all grades. Three separate competitions will be held within the tournament to cater to all grades. We would encourage more of the higher grades to get involved. The €5 entry fee includes pizza, a complimentary beer, mineral, or glass of wine, and prizes.

4. Douglas Friendly 
 
Last Friday we held a friendly with Douglas from 6:30-9. Thank you to all our players who took part and supplied some great food for the evening. Thanks to Noel Lucey for organising the event.
5. Members Information Night

On November 12th we held an Information Night for members, thank you to all who attended and contributed giving questions in advance and on the night.

6. Tennis Christmas Cracker

Our annual Tennis Christmas cracker will be held on Saturday, December 28th. This social tennis event starts at noon and lasts for a few hours. Please sign up using the link here.
Please also bring an unwanted Christmas Gift (ideally wrapped), the players on the day will take turns to take a prize from the gifts.

7. 125 Event – Carols by Candlelight

Our last 125 Anniversary event will take place on Sunday 15th December, at 7:30 pm in the clubhouse.
Music by the Sunday’s Well Choir and Cork School of Music string quartet. A selection of readings by Club Members. Followed by mulled wine and mince pies
There will be no charge for the event but we would appreciate donations that will go to charity. First come first serve for limited sign-up due to space constraints.

8. Social Tennis

9. Junior Tennis Report

Santa Party: Took place yesterday, thank you to our amazing Junior Committee for putting on a display and event that rivals any professional Santa experience in the country.
