Dear Members,

I hope you’re all keeping well and enjoying some of the facilities our amazing club offers. Our court replacement project is fast approaching, and we could not be more excited.  We look forward to seeing our new surface transform the club, enhancing the playing experience for all our members and creating an even better environment for everyone to enjoy.

We have plenty happening around the club over the coming weeks, so here is a quick update on some events, competitions and club activities.

Communication Update

1. Mary Collins Tournament 
Our fun ladies’ doubles tournament takes place on September 20th. It’s a charity event open to all bands, with this year’s chosen charity being Cork ARC Cancer Support House.  There is still time to enter! The entry deadline is Thursday, September 17th, so don’t miss out.

2. Winter League 

A Big thank you to everyone who signed up to play Winter League Phase I. The teams will be announced next week, so keep an eye out for the details.

3. Club Ladder
Series 106 is ongoing and ends on Sunday, October 11th. Just a gentle reminder to please try to get all your matches played before work commences on our new courts. Thank you to Peter O’Rourke for coordinating this.

4. Friday Social Tennis/Club Night
Social tennis continues to be a great success. Play starts at 7:15 pm and runs until 9 pm, followed by pizza.  There is a small €5 charge that can be paid by card on the night. You can sign up for upcoming dates HERE

5. Summer Cup
Our summer cup campaign has ended. I wanted to thank all the teams and substitutes for competing and representing our club at a very high level.  Your commitment and support are hugely appreciated.

6. Sunday’s Well Closed Week
Our Closed Week begins September 27th – October 2nd.  Entries are now open, and I encourage all members to get involved, play some tennis and enjoy the week.

7. Junior News
It’s great to see the excitement of all of our juniors back on court. There are still a few places available on certain days, so please contact the office for details.
Additionally, our Junior Closed is scheduled for October 2nd to October 4th. Please encourage all our junior players to compete and enjoy, entry will open September 11th @ 6pm.

8. New Club Gear
A new collection of club clothing for junior and senior members is now available from Personalise Me. The range includes polo shirts, t-shirts, hoodies, shorts (in white and navy), and a navy half-zip. Samples are available in the main clubhouse for fitting. You can purchase items online or by calling the company directly.
