On October 15th, three Sunday’s Well Junior teams travelled to the Catholic Institute to play in the Junior Cup Finals. The U12, U14 and U16 teams all played in the finals of their respective groups. It was great to see Sunday’s Well so well represented at this level. The U12 and U16 teams both went on to win the competitions outright. Well done to all who took part!
Another successful Family Fun Day was held on the 1st October. We had over 180 members take part in lots of fun activities and games. There was also a BBQ and even some yummy pancakes!

The weather was testing at times during the week cause some matches to be rescheduled but the week finished on Saturday despite the changes. Winners and runners-up were given Club gear as prizes for the first time.
On September 8th, a group from Ballinlough Tennis Club visited Sunday’s Well for some friendly tennis and food. It was lots of fun and we look forward to another visit in due course. Thanks to Martin Hurley, Jean Downeyand Jacqui O’Mahony of Ballinlough for organising the event.
Sunday’s Well was asked to host these at relatively short notice when St Anne’s was unable to do so. I am very happy to say that we were able to oblige and that we also had two teams playing on the day. Congratulations go to our Grade 4 mens’ team and our Grade 6 ladies who both won their respective events in a nail-biting superdoubles.
We recently hosted a visiting tennis team from Barbados Yacht Club, the event was very well attended and thankfully on this occasion the weather behaved! The day was a made up of mixed friendly games and afternoon tea and it was very enjoyable.

As usual, the open ran extremely smoothly thanks to Marie, Dara, the junior committee and many volunteers. For the first time, we surveyed participants on their views about the tournament and feedback was extremely positive.
