The finals of the American Tournament took place on Saturday 16th November. Congratulations to the overall winner Cathy Walsh and winners on the evening Catherine O’Riordan and Brian Twomey, a huge thank you must also go to Maria Crowley and her committee for organising the tournament during the year. Irish Evergreens Visit 2019
On August 31st, Sundays Well welcomed the Irish Evergreens for a great weekend of tennis and social activities. 12 members of the Evergreens arrived came down on Friday and were welcomed by the Social Committee. This was followed on Saturday morning with some great tennis in beautiful sunshine. Thanks must go to Martin Leahy and the Social Committee for their organisation.
Spring Clean 2019
The annual Spring Clean took place on Sunday 28th April, a huge thank you must go to all the members who volunteered their time to help. The club is looking super as a result. Pewsey Friendly 2019
This weekend we welcomed 12 visitors from Pewsey LTC, Wiltshire, UK. The Tennis & Social Committees organised events to coincide with this visit over the weekend, starting with a ‘Meet & Greet’ on Friday night in the River Lee hotel. Tennis matches were organised for Saturday & Sunday mornings and the visitors were guests at the presentation dinner for the Internal Winter League & Ladder Cup finals on Saturday night. Table Quiz 2019
On February 15th a table quiz was held in the club, the proceeds of the quiz will go to the Simon Community. The table quiz was well attended and was won by Joe O’Mahony’s team. A huge thank you to the Social Committee for their organisation and John Coulter who was an excellent quizmaster on the night. 42 people took part in this year’s Christmas Cracker event which was held in the club on the morning of the 27th of December. It was great to see the club buzzing during the holiday season. Super Seniors Finals
The finals of our new Super Seniors event took place on December 11th, there was some superb tennis and followed by festive lunch. Ladies Christmas Lunch
The annual ladies Christmas lunch took place yesterday December 5th, approximately 40 members attended to celebrate the festive season in the company of their tennis friends. Brook Inn provided a delicious Christmas Dinner and a presentation was made to Greg Morris as a thank you for all his work during the year. Fancy Dress Karaoke Night
This was an organized free fun night for members & guests. Great fun was had by all that attended the event with some very surprising & unexpected talent surfacing on the night with renditions of well-known artists songs. Everybody made a great effort with their themed costumes that added to the occasion. Social Committee will be developing this themed fun night in next years Social calendar watch this space! Gin and Beer Tasting Evening
Well done to all on the Social Committee who recently organised a Gin and Craft Beer Tasting Evening. The evening was a big success with over 70 people attending. New Super Seniors American Tournament Gets Underway
The first round 1 of the new Super Seniors American Tournament took place on September 11th. The event is a new event which was organised by Vice Captain Donal Johnson and a subcommittee. The event is due to take place every second Tuesday of the month at 10:15-12:00. It consists of short competitive tennis games followed by morning coffee. Wimbledon Tea Party
In conjunction with Wimbledon’s mens’ finals day, the social committee organised a Wimbledon Tea Party. The tennis was old style with some superb traditional outfits and the tea and cakes were delicious!
