Junior Tennis Information Evening 2018

The evening gave an overview of the club’s junior tennis offerings, the agenda covered items such as who is who in Junior tennis, what activities are available and how to join, how parents can get involved. It finished with the coaches giving a demo of various drills that parents can do with kids. A handout summarising…

The finals of the American Tournament took place on October 27th, Joe O’Mahony and Alex Daly were the overall winners. The tournament was backed with sponsorship from Cantor Fitzgerald and Human+Kind and the good news is that Human+Kind have already agreed to sponsor it again next year.

Summer Cup Finals
Sunday’s Well was asked to host these at relatively short notice when St Anne’s was unable to do so. I am very happy to say that we were able to oblige and that we also had two teams playing on the day. Congratulations go to our Grade 4 mens’ team and our Grade 6 ladies who both won their respective events in a nail-biting superdoubles.

Munster Senior Open
The Munster Senior Open was held in June. With 30 events and 420 entries it was a yet again a big undertaking. Dara Carberry again did a wonderful job as tournament director. In 2016, Dara Carberry & Trish Murphy did a considerable amount of work collecting and analysing data about the open. They looked at court time, number of players etc.. This year we were able to apply the lessons learnt from the data analysis and it made for a very smooth open with very few players playing late and…
