After a very busy weekend of matches, 6 club teams have made it through to the semi finals of the Winter League, as Grade 2s and Grade 3s will now play each other in the semis, which means that the club already has two guaranteed finalists. In further good news, the club has been chosen as the venue for the finals which will be held on Sunday 15th May. Winter League Winners
Well done to our Grade 4 team of Sean O’Malley, Debbie Dunlea, Norma Kerrisk and Niall O’Keeffe who won their Winter League final in Nenagh last week. They were 2-1 down after the first round, so it was fantastic that they pulled it back. It was very well deserved. Thanks also must go to those who travelled to support, lovely to see such club spirit at play.
Neilly Sull Open 2021
Well done to all who took part in the annual Neilly Sull open, as always the level of squash was fantastic. As we all know these things don’t run themselves so a big thank you to Eoin, our squash captain and to Ken O’Keeffe the tournament director for all their work and the final thank you goes to O’Sullivan Brothers DIY who very kindly sponsored the event. Summer Cup Finals 2021
On Sunday 5th September the Summer Cup Finals were held in Rushbrooke. Sunday’s Well had 3 teams in the finals. In the first match of the day, our Grade 6 ladies battled each other in a nail biting final. It was Norma’s team that came through, hard luck to Adrienne’s team who put up a strong fight. Neilly Sull 2019
An amazing weekend with over 40 players plus 4 professionals competing for honours in the Neilly Sull Open 2019. This has become one of the dates in the squash calendar that everyone looks forward to. Not only to watch the likes of Joel Makin, the world no.12 showcase his effortless skills but to remember our friend and former club member Neil O Sullivan. American Tournament Finals 2019
The finals of the American Tournament took place on Saturday 16th November. Induchem Club Championships 2019
The Induchem Club Championships took place between September 22nd – 27th and had a record entry of over 150 entries. This year the format changed significantly and the presentation was done in tandem with the dinner on the Friday night. A massive thank you to our sponsors Induchem and also to Emma Crowley & Claire Fennell, tournament directors and all the committees which helped with the organisation to the event. Grade 2 Win Summer Cup Finals 2019
A massive well done must go to Ron O’Mahony, Shane McCarthy, Grace Reidy and Sandra Higgins who are competed in the Grade 2 Summer Cup finals in Rushbrooke. The team were facing off against Rushbrooke and after 4 matches it was 2-2 all. The Mens Doubles was the decider and Ron and Shane came back from 5-2 in the third to win the tournament. Well done to all !
Junior Veterans' Interprovincials 2019
On September 6th and 7th, Sunday’s Well was delighted to host the Junior Veteran’s Interprovincial Event. The level of tennis throughout the weekend was outstanding and Sunday’s Well was well represented on all teams. Leinster won the title overall but Munster did have wins in the Ladies 35+ 40+ and Men’s 45+events, in particular well done to Abby Hayes, Mary Claire McCarthy, Deirdre Swinburne who were all part of these winning teams.
Davy Munster Junior Open 2019
The finals of the Davy Munster Junior open championships were concluded in superb conditions at the Sundays Well Boating and Tennis Club, Cork on Saturday 6th July. Over 7 days over 310 boys and girls in age groups from as young as under 8 right through to under 18 competed in this Category 1 Irish Junior Tennis tournament and many of the country’s top juniors from all four provinces and further afar battled in blistering sunshine for the main titles. Insight Insurance Munster Senior Open 2019
As many of you know the Insight Insurance Munster Senior Open was held at the beginning of June. It was a busy week with 30 events, 481 players but it all went very smoothly!
