The club is delighted to announce that it is introducing new group coaching sessions in both Tennis and Squash. Tennis: We are starting our adult beginners coaching starting on Saturday 12th November from 1.45pm to 2.45pm. There will be 5 sessions up to Christmas. This is for players who are beginners or slightly stronger and would like to learn the basics of the game in order to join in on some of the social activities in the Club. Squash Refurbishment Completed
This week saw the completion of renovations to the squash courts. This work was possible with the assistance of a €4,000 grant from the Cork City Council last year. The works included plastering of Court 2, sanding and relining of both floors and a machine wash of both court walls. Both courts are now in pristine condition and of an exceptional standard. Neilly Sull Open 2021
Well done to all who took part in the annual Neilly Sull open, as always the level of squash was fantastic. As we all know these things don’t run themselves so a big thank you to Eoin, our squash captain and to Ken O’Keeffe the tournament director for all their work and the final thank you goes to O’Sullivan Brothers DIY who very kindly sponsored the event. New Junior Squash Coaching Programme
Building on the our World Squash Day event, last Friday the club kicked off a new junior squash coaching programme. It was fantastic to see juniors enjoying the squash courts and well done to Sophie O’Rourke, our coach and Eoin O’Toole, our Squash Captain on all their organizing and starting out on a great new initiative. World Squash Day 2021
A massive well done to our squash committee headed by Eoin O’Toole on a very successful world squash day. We saw superb squash potential from our juniors and an amazing display of skill from Sophie O’Rourke and Johnny Hurley in their exhibition match which finished with Sophie winning 2-1. The Squash Committee are now working to set up a new junior programme and more news on this will follow soon.
Neilly Sull 2019
An amazing weekend with over 40 players plus 4 professionals competing for honours in the Neilly Sull Open 2019. This has become one of the dates in the squash calendar that everyone looks forward to. Not only to watch the likes of Joel Makin, the world no.12 showcase his effortless skills but to remember our friend and former club member Neil O Sullivan. Thanks to everyone who supported, played, watched and to Sundays Well for everything they did to make the event run so smoothly. Looking forward to next year…
Squash Social 2019
Great night at the August squash social. on August 30th. There was a fantastic turnout and a huge thanks to Eoin O Toole for all his hard work organising it.
Squash Club Championships 2019
Sundays Well Squash Club Championship commenced on Monday 25th March and finished on April 13. 20 players competed across 3 sections and there were social drinks held on the club on Finals Night. Squash Irish Open 2019
Another great weekend with the Squash Irish Open over 35/40 hosted in the club. Well done to all players with some fantastic games on show. Sunday's Well to Host Some of World's Top Squash Players
Over the next few days, Sunday’s Well will play host to some of the World’s top Squash players The excitement is building to this weekend’s Neilly Sull Squash Open. Derval O’ Rourke was delighted to visit the Club recently for a photo shoot to launch this year’s tournament. The Club is very excited to welcome Joel Makin, new world No.24, Josh Masters, world No. 50, Miles Jenkins, world No. 178 and Irish International Brian Byrne, world No. 158. Squash Irish Open 2018
What a Squash Irish Open we had this weekend. John Rooney former Irish Professional player from Galway won the men’s over 35 beating defending champion Keith Moran from Sligo, both pictured below. Neal Murphy from Nass successfully defended his over 40 title beating Dara O’Flynn from Fitzwilliam in Dublin 3-1 in the final. Well done to Sundays Well for hosting this prestigious Tournament and to Johnny Hurley as Tournament Director.
