Junior Close 2022
The Junior Close took place between 23-25th September for the for the first time since “Pre Covid” times in 2019. We had a week of great weather, great tennis and great fun. The tournament saw members as young as 6 picking up their rackets. A first taste of “match play” for many. Summer Cup Finalists 2022
Congratulations to Alex’s Grade 5 team who have now reached the Summer Cup Finals. Also, Alymer’s G1 team, Laia’s G2 team and Kevin’s G4 team all made it to the semis and had some very tight matches but unfortunately Sunday just wasnt their day. O'Connors Munster Junior Open 2022
The finals of the O’Connor’s Pharmacy Munster Junior Open Championships were concluded in superb conditions at the weekend. For the previous 7 days over 200 boys and girls in age groups from as young as under 8 right through to under 18 competed in this Category 1 Irish Junior Tennis tournament and many of the country’s top juniors from all four provinces battled in blistering sunshine for the main titles. Munster Senior Open 2022
The Munster Senior Open was held in the club between 9th – 18th June. The club welcomed close to 500 players over the 10 days, and it was fantastic to see the Open return again after 2 years. The standard of tennis was higher than ever and the volunteers and supporter were out in force. Winter League Winners 2022
Sunday’s Well hosted a very exciting and enjoyable finale for Phase II of the Winter League on Sunday, May 15th. We can be particularly proud to have three of our own teams participate in the finals. Unfortunately, Marc’s Grade 5 team lost out in a very close super double but the good news is both Emily’s Grade 3 team won their super doubles and Tara’s Grade 2 team came from 2-0 down to also win in super doubles. 3 Teams Reach Winter League Finals 2022
Last weekend saw a great display of tennis in the club as 6 club teams did battle in the Winter League Semi-Finals. Unfortunately, due to the fact that Grade 3 and Grade 4 teams were playing each other, we were never going to have more than 4 teams in the finals. Six Teams Reach Winter League Semis
After a very busy weekend of matches, 6 club teams have made it through to the semi finals of the Winter League, as Grade 2s and Grade 3s will now play each other in the semis, which means that the club already has two guaranteed finalists.
