Santa Meet & Greet 2021
We had a special visitor to the club today, and it was absolutely great, a huge thank you to Mags & Fiona and all their team who did a wonderful job preparing for the visit. Of course, a giant thank you to Santa himself for taking the time to come to the club, we know he is a very busy man at the moment! New Junior Squash Coaching Programme
Building on the our World Squash Day event, last Friday the club kicked off a new junior squash coaching programme. It was fantastic to see juniors enjoying the squash courts and well done to Sophie O’Rourke, our coach and Eoin O’Toole, our Squash Captain on all their organizing and starting out on a great new initiative. Summer Camps Update
The club intends to run weekly Summer Camps again this year for the following weeks:. Week 1: July 5th – 9th Week 2: July 12th – 16th Week 3: July 19th – 23rd Week 4: July 26th – 30th Week 5: August 9th – 13th Week 6: August 16th – 20th The camps will be run Mondays – Fridays and non-members will be permitted but must be accompanied by a member. Davy Munster Junior Open 2019
The finals of the Davy Munster Junior open championships were concluded in superb conditions at the Sundays Well Boating and Tennis Club, Cork on Saturday 6th July. Over 7 days over 310 boys and girls in age groups from as young as under 8 right through to under 18 competed in this Category 1 Irish Junior Tennis tournament and many of the country’s top juniors from all four provinces and further afar battled in blistering sunshine for the main titles. Upcoming Junior Friendlies
A calendar of junior friendlies has now been organised for the upcoming months. The days that there are no friendlies, there will still be club matchplay. All of the friendlies and match play will take place in Sunday’s Well and we would strongly encourage our juniors to play as it is an excellent way to get practice, meet other players while having some fun. Rafa Nadal Academy Visit 2018
Yesterday, we had a visit from the Rafa Nadal Academy who came to the Club to give a few coaching sessions to members of all ages. We wish to thank the Academy for their visit, a massive thank you also to Ger, all the parents and players of all ages for their help and support of the event. Junior Cup Winners!
Well done to our U14 team who won the Junior Cup Final yesterday in St Anne’s, beating Killaloe 5-0. Our Munster Coach of the Year!
Huge congratulations to our Coaching Coordinator Ger Flynn who today was named Munster Coach of the Year. Ger is a level 3 coach and a Tennis Ireland Tutor with over 30 years coaching experience. As a player, she represented Munster at all levels and was also part of an Irish Veterans team. She has been coach and non-playing captain to numerous Munster and Irish Junior teams, travelling around Europe with the National Junior squads over a 10-year period.
