Sunday’s Well hosted a very exciting and enjoyable finale for Phase II of the Winter League on Sunday, May 15th. We can be particularly proud to have three of our own teams participate in the finals. Unfortunately, Marc’s Grade 5 team lost out in a very close super double but the good news is both Emily’s Grade 3 team won their super doubles and Tara’s Grade 2 team came from 2-0 down to also win in super doubles. Here is a brief update on what has been happening at our club…. Ladder Cup & Fionnuala Quigley Internal Winter League The Ladder Cup and Fionnuala Quigley Internal Winter League finals took place on Saturday, the 23rd April, followed by a presentation of prizes to the winners and runners up and a dinner catered by Brook Catering. 3 Teams Reach Winter League Finals 2022
Last weekend saw a great display of tennis in the club as 6 club teams did battle in the Winter League Semi-Finals. Unfortunately, due to the fact that Grade 3 and Grade 4 teams were playing each other, we were never going to have more than 4 teams in the finals. Three of these teams made it through and the tennis and atmosphere were fantastic. Here’s a brief update on what has been a few very busy weeks at our club…. Munster Vets A big thanks to Stephen McCarthy who delivered yet another successful Vets event. We had 198 participants in 44 events, and there were several Sundays Well winners. Well done to everyone involved! Six Teams Reach Winter League Semis
After a very busy weekend of matches, 6 club teams have made it through to the semi finals of the Winter League, as Grade 2s and Grade 3s will now play each other in the semis, which means that the club already has two guaranteed finalists. In further good news, the club has been chosen as the venue for the finals which will be held on Sunday 15th May. Munster Veterans Open: 25th – 27th March The Munster Veterans’ Open will be held in Sunday’s Well Boating & Tennis Club from Friday, 25th March until Sunday, 27th March. Winter League Winners
Well done to our Grade 4 team of Sean O’Malley, Debbie Dunlea, Norma Kerrisk and Niall O’Keeffe who won their Winter League final in Nenagh last week. They were 2-1 down after the first round, so it was fantastic that they pulled it back. It was very well deserved. Thanks also must go to those who travelled to support, lovely to see such club spirit at play.

Summer Cup Finals 2021
On Sunday 5th September the Summer Cup Finals were held in Rushbrooke. Sunday’s Well had 3 teams in the finals. In the first match of the day, our Grade 6 ladies battled each other in a nail biting final. It was Norma’s team that came through, hard luck to Adrienne’s team who put up a strong fight. 3 teams make Summer Cup finals!
This year, we had four teams reach the semi-finals and these were played this weekend. Of the four, three have now reached the finals. Unfortunately, Marks G4 team were pipped in super doubles away to Bishopstown but Donal’s G3 team won at home to Tralee, Gillian’s G4 Ladies won away to Monaleen and Niall’s G6 team won away to Causeway in super doubles. Winter League Sign Up Opens
Munster Branch has issued details of this year’s Winter League. It will be run in two phases. The first phase will run from Mid October to January and the second phase will run from Mid January to April. These will be two distinct competitions and the format of each will be slightly different. At the moment we will concentrate on Phase 1. Phase one will be played in Grades 1 through 6.
