3 teams make Summer Cup finals!
This year, we had four teams reach the semi-finals and these were played this weekend. Of the four, three have now reached the finals. Unfortunately, Marks G4 team were pipped in super doubles away to Bishopstown but Donal’s G3 team won at home to Tralee, Gillian’s G4 Ladies won away to Monaleen and Niall’s G6 team won away to Causeway in super doubles. Winter League Sign Up Opens
Munster Branch has issued details of this year’s Winter League. It will be run in two phases. The first phase will run from Mid October to January and the second phase will run from Mid January to April. These will be two distinct competitions and the format of each will be slightly different. At the moment we will concentrate on Phase 1. Phase one will be played in Grades 1 through 6. Floodlight Upgrade
As previously communicated the upgrading of the club’s lighting infrastructure will commence on Monday 21st September with a view to being completed by Monday 12th October. Mr Declan Healy - RIP
It is with deep regret that we announce the death aged 83 of Declan Healy, a Trustee of Sunday’s Well Boating & Tennis Club. Declan and his wife Margaret joined the Club in the 1980s. From the beginning, he involved himself in the various sporting and other activities of the Club. He was well known for his quick wit and infectious laughter and his kind and compassionate spirit. Mr Gordon Exshaw - RIP
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death Gordon Exshaw, former chairman of Sunday’s Well Boating & Tennis Club. Gordon became a member of the club on the urgings of his father, also club chairman in 1933, and proceeded to play a prominent role in club affairs throughout his life. An active tennis and snooker player he was elected to the role of snooker captain in 1972 and the following year became club chairman, a role he filled with distinction. In advance of the club re-opening a members’ webinar was held on Sunday 17th May. At the webinar Club Chairman, John O’Sullivan and Club Captain, David Carroll outlined the work done by the club in advance of its re-opening. Sunday's Well is Going Green
In recent months, we have been working to make our club a more environmentally friendly club. LEDs have been put in place in a number of areas around the club and compostable cups and paper straws are have been in the use in the bar for some time. From April, the club will also be removing the use of single-use plastic cups and so it will no longer be providing the plastic cups by the water fountain so members are asked to bring their own reusable bottles and cups going…

The Social Committee is now organising a number of new group activities, in particular, the following activities are proposed and expressions of interest are now being sought. Book Club Walking Group Pewsey Trip – Interested Members (of all tennis ability) are invited to take part in a return invitation trip to Pewsey LTC in UK late April/early May 2020.
